Supporting Race4Life

Race4Life raises the spirits and well-being of Palliative Care Patients throughout New Zealand, by providing opportunities for their wishes to come true.

With the Annual Race4Life Track Day coming up at the end of September, we felt it was the perfect time to let our clients know more about this fantastic organisation.

Race4Life is a registered charity that fulfils the wishes of palliative care patients throughout New Zealand. This volunteer-based organisation works with service providers across the country to arrange truly special events, activities and occasions to bring joy to Kiwis with a life-limiting illness.

Many of the wishes that Race4Life grants aren’t the international holidays or adrenaline-filled adventures you might expect. For many palliative care patients, their biggest wish is to explore new parts of New Zealand, return to a favourite childhood holiday spot, or simply spend time with their family. Thanks to the generosity of supporters and local service providers, Race4Life has granted over 600 wishes, many of them family holidays in beautiful local destinations.

Race4Life began in 2008, when a number of businessmen, race car owners and drivers, sponsors and volunteers created the first Race4Life event - and the event series continues today! Race4Life events give palliative care patients and their loved ones the opportunity to experience an exciting day out, from tearing around the track in a racing car or taking a trip in a helicopter. The team behind Race4Life quickly realised that there were plenty of wishes to be fulfilled outside the racetrack, and the Race4Life Trust was established in 2015.

GSI is proud to partner with Race4Life to support their work and ensure that insurance cover is one thing they don’t have to worry about. Learn more about Race4Life and view upcoming events on their website: https://race4life.org.nz/
